Grace Glasser only wishes for a normal life in which she can sleep in the same place for more than just three months and not have to struggle to pay the electric bill. Emotionally trapped by her alcoholic mother, she concentrates her energy on her best friend, her future audition for a New York music school, and surviving her mother's new boyfriend. Her attempts to go unnoticed until graduation day are thwarted by the arrival of Eva, a girl with her own demons to overcome. Eva takes Grace on midnight adventures and stirs up feelings Grace has never experienced. When Eva tells Grace she likes girls, new worlds open for both of them.
